Are you ready for a day full of love!
Let the love linger on this Valentine’s Day with these thoughtful and romantic Valentine’s Day ideas for every stage of the relationship!
How about a replay of the moment you met?
Where did you meet? Was it on vacation, at a local coffee spot, or at the hardware store?
Whatever your origin story may be, it's always amusing to track how much your relationship has grown since your first encounter!
Try setting up a surprise date night at the location where you first met. Or, if you met on a beach in Hawaii, try setting up a Tiki-themed dinner with tropical-themed lanterns, hula skirts, and island inspired cocktails!
If you met at a popular local coffee spot, have fun recreating the first day you met by trying to remember each other's orders and who made the first move! Do you remember the first thing you said to each other or what day it was?
Who doesn’t love a good love letter?
Start the Valentine’s Day morning by reminding your soulmate of your special connection by slipping them a secret love letter. Hide the letter in their purse or briefcase before they leave for work – or on the dashboard of their car, next to the coffee machine, or in their favorite mug (in a spot they won’t be able to miss!)
Some ideas for wording on the love letter can include lyrics from your favorite song together, 10 things you love about their appearance and personality, or a clue to the fun-filled and romantic night you have planned ahead!
“Violets are blue, roses are red, I love you so much, can’t get you outta my head!”
Other innovative activities and gifts
Your Valentine will never forget this year. Depending on what you two lovebirds like to do together, try some of these fun activities or gifts. You still have time to put together something special:
- A cooking class to learn how to prepare a special meal together.
- A personalized star map showing the night sky on the day you met.
- A couples' spa day with massages, facials, and other relaxing treatments.
- A hike or outdoor adventure, such as rock climbing or kayaking.
- A scenic picnic if it's warm where you are!
- A photo shoot capturing the memories of your special day.
- A wine and cheese tasting tour.
Make sure not to let slip any hints of the surprise before the day!
The simplest recipe for your sweetheart’s sweet tooth.
Sometimes staying at home is the most romantic thing to do! Make this Valentine’s Day extra sweet with this simple recipe any novice chef can conquer! Don’t forget to add in an extra spoonful of love too! Decadent, fancy, and only contains two ingredients: Chocolate-Covered Strawberries will be sure to make your partner fall in love with you all over again.
Chocolate-Covered Strawberries
Start by washing fresh strawberries and picking up some high quality chocolate or baking chocolate. This type of chocolate works best for high temperatures and melting. Decide what flavor of chocolate your sweetheart will indulge in most (whether it be milk chocolate, bittersweet, semi-sweet, or white chocolate), then it's time to melt the chocolate. Melt the chocolate in the microwave (for 30 seconds at a time) then remove and stir. Repeat until the chocolate is entirely smooth and melted too.
Now it's time to dip the strawberries into the chocolate! After the dunk, lay the dipped-strawberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them cool. Consider adding some extra toppings before the chocolate dries like crushed peanuts, walnuts, sprinkles, toasted coconut, crushed graham crackers, or even some white chocolate to drizzle designs or the initials of your lover’s name on-top of the darker chocolate. Thoughtful and delicious!
